Allison V.
Allison Vorchheimer is a Connecticut native, born and raised in Vernon, where she continues to call home today. Her path to teaching yoga unfolded organically, sparked by a trusted friend who had walked the same road before her, and led her to the teacher training program at West Hartford Yoga. She is currently completing her certification in Y Power Yoga, having already earned her certification in Restorative Yoga, with plans to continue expanding her training across multiple modalities.
Allison's relationship with mindfulness stretches back much further, though. As a middle schooler, a biographical film on the Buddha quietly changed the course of her life. It ignited a curiosity about the mind and the profound impact that consistent meditation practice can have on it, a curiosity she has never stopped exploring. For years, her practice lived primarily at home, rooted in deep meditation and grounding work, before she found her way back to the physical side of yoga, a return she describes as both wonderful and exciting.
Beyond the mat, Allison is working toward becoming a licensed psychologist, with the intention of weaving yoga therapy into her clinical work. Having experienced firsthand how deeply yoga and meditation have shaped her own mental health journey, she is passionate about making these tools accessible to the people who need them most. For Allison, this work is personal, and that is exactly what makes it so meaningful.
When she isn't in the studio or hitting the books, you'll find Allison creating art, cherishing time with her niece, and lovingly tending to her chickens, cats, and garden.
She cannot wait to meet you.
